The difference the cochlea makes is huge – and the hearing aid, while large – is managable.

Cochlea implant switch on

Luc’s implant was done a year ago. This video show the switch on – amazing – from stone deaf to hearing.

He is now 2/12 and loving every second of his hearing world. We continue with sign language training – he might lose his hearing as the Leukodystrophy progress – no signs yet though.. Check out the latest hearing aid – the new cochlea! The hearing aids, or implants, for deaf children were sponsored by reach for a dream – they got us this free hearing aid. It was a real eye opener to actually benefit – we never thought we would get the help – so thanks reach for a dream – you certainly helped our deaf kid!

What A Place To Be

Sue and Luc

What a place….

Nothing to be say

Nothing to do

Nothing to hope for

Nothing to ease

Nothing to comfort

Nothing….

My Child is dying

What an empty despairing place to be

Drop my head and surrender

Towards death

Ignorant innocence

Bliss in childness

No knowledge of death

No knowledge of life

Just the new moment

Popping into existence

Fascination with creation

Happening now

Guiltless disdain for anything not interesting

Moving on with anticipation

Embracing the flow

Towards death

MyChild is Dying

My child is dying

Waves of sadness swell and break….

Tearing, engulfing, overwhelming.

Creeping joy is ripped by what will not be.

Now love is turned

To pain for a future nothing.

To stay now in the joy?

How – every new step is a step that cannot be finished?

To take the gift now and know it is gone tomorrow.

Beautiful boy, shining smile, so much love

Gone , for what, to what

My heart, my life is ripped with every child nuance.

“Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.” Kahlil Gibran

Luekodystophy - Luc at few weeks old - no visible signs. We did not know he was ill.

Brand new!

Leave us your thought and experiences.

If you have poured your heart into a poem – share it with us.

Be brave – remember to live in the now.

I am taking every moment of Luc’s life, in every detail, and loving it. All I have left is to give him love.

He is now 2 – the support and help we have got from friends, family and strangers has been great.

He is showing no signs of Leukodystrophy yet – just a happy kid.
