Cochlea implant 2 years later
One year down the line and after Luc’s cochlea implant and the results are great – Luc is hearing and responding. After intensive speech therapy and many hours spent by Sue – Luc is “online”
Speech therapy after cochlea implant in South Africa – watch the video and see the results – unbelievable – he come when he is called, has learnt his colors and can count to 10 – the speech therapy takes time and is slow going in the beginning – but having a cochlea implant was the best move we made. We are still teaching him sign language – when the leukodystrophy kicks in he could very well loose his hearing again – and of course his sight – but I am going to cover as many bases as I can so that I can comfort him in those dark days ahead.
